I'd like to start off by showing you all a clip of a die-hard low vs diamond fan that crossed the line between band and fan interaction by jumping on stage and harassing me during a rendition of the number "Heart Attack" in Madison, WI on our last tour. Luckily the security at the Majestic Theater was so on point, they smothered the situation within seconds and everyone was safe. I did fear for my life at one point, when the 18 year old kid whispered me he "loved me" in my ear. Here you go, the assault happens within the first 20 seconds.

If you decided to continue watching the clip till the end, you will also notice that i shatter my stick in the last chorus and my first reaction was to play with my hand. I then came to my senses and finished out the song playing with one stick. See if you can hear a difference. It gives me hope that if LVD rises to superstardom and I buy a corvette (which of course i will get a yellow one...like my dad had in 1993) and become like Rick Allen, Low vs Diamond can carry on with me as the drummer.
Anyhoo, did ya'll see Ray LaMontagne on Saturday Night Live? He is a cool dude. So is Billy Zane. I was also messing around on Youtube and found this Nirvana clip of them playing "Top of the Pops" (that cheesy UK show) They were playing to track (except the vocals) and were supposed to pretend like they were playing their instruments. Instead, they did this.......

Pretty bad-ass (as my dear friend Nick Shipp would say) BAAAADDD-AAAAASSSSSSSS
So we have been taking advantage of this time off by working on new songs in Los Angeles and are going to try some out on our next tour in April with Jacks Mannequin and Matt Nathanson! Should be a hedonistic and precocious tour indeed and rightly so my good gents and damsels. Tour dates are posted below on myspace and there should be a few more added this week including some college shows and a NYC play. Our guitar player Anthony is especially excited for this tour. We also have new merch that we are going to sell (ie t-shirts, stickers, buttons, spirit flags, LVD flavored pina coladas, police badges, gun holsters, shampoo and of course LVD party poppers. This tour should last throughout all of April and then we have a secret tour in May that we will announce shortly so stay tuned for dat dat dat dat dat dat dat dat dat (should be said with a slow fade out).
A few other fun facts:
I am officially a Florida Resident now (for tax purposes only) well...and because I love Sea World so god damn much.
I get called either Art Garfunkel or Bob Dylan at least 4 times a day now on a consistent basis.
If you haven't seen "Phantom of the Paradise" go see it like NOW! Brian De Palma is a genius and who knew Paul Williams was such a cool song writer.
Scurvy is a disease resulting from a deficiency of Vitamin C and was at one time common among sailors, pirates and other aboard ships at sea.
LVD finished shooting a viral video for "Don't Forget Sister" Will be available to view in the very near future on Myspace and Youtube and the blogosphere.
If I ever started writing a book, i would start it with:
"You are the rotten apple of my bloodshot eye i told her as she left the bar......
So now, I leave you with a quote from the new Robert Plant/Allison Krauss Album that, yes, won the Grammy for best album, but YES actually deserved it. Go download it NOW
"Somebody said they saw me, swinging the world by its tail, bouncing over a white cloud, killing the blues"..... (Plant/Krauss)

Wedding location
I think wearing the diamond ring is nice, makes people happy for some moments.
But what makes the wedding day attractive is the location.
I was thinking of recommending a Destin Beach Wedding to every one.
With the blue sky in the back, the sea air, the white sandy beach, they all make this day a wonderful, simple & enjoyable one.

Wedding ring
Marriage is bonding together & becoming one body.
The wedding ring is more valued than its diamond price, it's a symbol of love.
It's not only about having a nice wedding, enjoying Bellevue Wedding Photography, & offering a diamond ring.
It's a life time bond, based on love & respect.

Diamonds on stage
I can't believe that 18 year old kid did that! I wouldn't be jumping on stage for a diamond. How do you even know it's real? I was recently looking online for a mens diamond ring. I ended up talking myself out of shopping for diamonds online. I am too much of a skeptic.

Funny Story
So sometime in the past at the Madison Theater, Covington i was there to see TEB. And on the ride up my sister and i saw a group of cute boys walking to the theater....Well being the person that i am i yelled out the window of my sisters car. Next what happened was one of the craziest things ever. As we walk in the theater we see the same boys walk to go backstage. As they walk away i said" Man, Sarah we should have picked them up and drove them to the theater." So the lights go down and as the band walks on stage i start to flip. Funny story how the cute boys walking was lvd. Random but so true.
Just on LVD in general :)
I was creating an itinerary on the Bumbershoot Festival website and came across you all. I haven't heard of you before, but I haven't heard of most performers at Bumbershoot, and I like it like that. It's always like a new adventure, like the grown up version of the county fair. Regardless, I saw the word diamonds, (and I sang 'people say she's crazy, she's got diamonds on the soul of her shoes') and I clicked to take a listen.
I liked you all right away, so being the antisocial butterfly I am, I added you to my itinerary then went straight to youtube to check out what else you have. I found the video for 'Heart Attack' and hit play.
I want you to know that it wasn't what I expected. I was excited to hear your music, but I wasn't anticipating being moved to tears. You see, my pops has been in the ICU for the passed three weeks, a better part of which he has been sedated and intubated. But, the other night dad was awake. Though unable to talk because of all of the tubing, he still tried to smile. When we left, my mother fanagled her way around the machines and tubes close enough to kiss him on his cheeks and forehead. As she did so, she whispered gently to him "I love you, so much". His eyebrows turned up in this deep painful and loving way, and tears began to stream down his cheeks. As if to say, "I wish I could kiss you, I wish I could tell you how much I love you". They have been married 44 years now, and their love is so deep and beautiful that it inspires me to believe that 'true love' is attainable. Your video today, reminded me of them. Of how eternal and unbreakable that love is.
As a wannabe singer/songwriter myself, I know that the greatest achievement is to move others with your works. You did that today. Anyhow, I added you all on twitter and I look forward to seeing you at Bumbershoot. Thank you for this moment... i needed it more than could you possibly know.
